Wyatt Kahn's approach to printmaking is that of confidence and directness, forever capturing a sense of immediacy and movement.

Holding an interest in the messiness of materials and process, Kahn is always pushing the potential of traditional techniques in a way that is ardent and industrious. Untitled is an edition printed on a large sheet of lead. The lead is malleable and dense, which presented a challenge in both handling and editioning.

The lithograph highlights figurative elements such as a pair of glasses and a tube of paint, symbols which have appeared in Kahn’s work and paintings, much like Eye Wash, 2018.

Wyatt Kahn was born in 1983 in New York, New York. He earned a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2006 and an MFA from Hunter College in 2012. Kahn has presented solo exhibitions at Museo di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto (MART), Trento, IT (2016); the Contemporary Art Museum, St. Louis, MO (2015); and LAXART, Los Angeles, CA (2014) as well as solo gallery exhibitions at Galerie Eva Presenhuber, Zurich (2014) and Xavier Hufkens, Brussels (2016). The artist has recently been included in group exhibitions such as Opening Sentence, Hessel Museum of Art (2016); Inside Out, Galerie Eva Presenhuber (2016); Performa Biennial (2015); and Space Between, FLAG Art Foundation (2015).
